Somerset is a city in Pulaski County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 11,196 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Pulaski County. The city is located along Lake Cumberland. Somerset was founded in 1802 and named after Lord John Somersett. It was originally settled by Appalachian pioneers. The city is known for its outdoor recreational activities, including fishing, hunting, boating, and hiking. The annual Master Musicians Festival is also held in Somerset.
